Contrarian investment means buying when everyone else is selling and selling when everyone else is buying. By investing this way, the theory is that the investor will "sell high" and "buy low". It is remarkably simple and obvious that people should buy when property prices are low (cheap) and sell when property prices are high (expensive) buy they don't.

Many residential property investors buy property on ¿Interest Only¿ terms rather than ¿Principal and Interest¿. Usually, the reason for this is that the monthly repayments are less and therefore more easily managed by the investor.
Also, most property investment spruikers promote interest only loans, putting forward the argument that the annual cost of servicing the loan for the property is less and that the ¿return¿ from the investment is in the long term capital growth.
